The Steelers Tarsha Gale Cup squad has snuck into the finals despite a 10-4 loss to the Sharks on Saturday. Courtney Crawford’s side finished fourth on points differential, locked in a three-way tie with the Eels and Raiders on 11 competition points. The competition takes a break over the Easter long weekend with the Semi Final Series starting on 15 April.
Meanwhile, The Steelers Harold Matts and SG Ball sides came agonizingly close to playing finals football. Both sides finished in seventh place, one-point shy of the top six.
Aaron McDonald’s Harold Matthews side was sitting fourth on the table heading into the weekend but a 12-8 loss to the Sharks and sides below them on the table all winning saw them come up short.
Russ Aitken’s SG Ball side also fell short, despite finishing the season with three wins on the trot, including a 30-8 win over the Sharks.

The Lisa Fioala Cup Under 17 girls finished their four-week competition with a 70-0 win over the Sharks to remain undefeated.
The inaugural Steelers Harvey Norman Women’s Premiership side is still in the finals race currently in fourth spot on the ladder with three games remaining.
