The Steelers SG Ball and Tarsha Gale Cup sides backed up their impressive first-round victories, recording 42-18 and 36-6 wins respectively over the Canberra Raiders in the nation’s capital. Elsewhere, the Lisa Fiaola Cup U17’s defeated the Central Coast Roosters 12-10 in Wyong.
The weekend wrap, brought to you by Harrigan Motor Group
Brad Reh’s Under 17 girls led 8-6 at half time with winger Maddalyn Bullock and centre Halle Barrett crossing for four-pointers before the Roosters fought back with a converted try just before the break.
Michala Hardy’s try in the 31st minute gave the Steelers a six-point buffer, which was reduced to two when the home side crossed for their second with 15 minutes remaining. The Roosters’ missed conversion attempt proved costly as the Steelers secured their second consecutive win by a two-point margin.
Fast start in the ACT
In Canberra, the U19 girls got out of the blocks early with a try to Chelsea Savill in the third minute before centre Mia-Rose Walsh crossed for her second try of the season to give the Steelers a 12-0 lead inside 10 minutes.

Buchanan gets hat-trick
