Harrigan Premiership | Round 8 Preview

The Harrigan Premiership resumes this weekend, with Round 8 action underway after the June long weekend bye.

Collegians get their second chance this season to turn the tables on Thirroul when they play host on Saturday afternoon after the defending premiers got the chocolates earlier in the year.

Dapto, who have lost three games by six points or less this season, will be out to prove they are still top-four material when they take on Corrimal at home.

The Cougars got the better of the Canaries in their Round 2 clash earlier this season. In the remaining fixture, Wests host De La Salle in a mouth-watering clash at Parrish Park. The Devils are out to avenge their 40-16 away loss in Round 2.

The Lower Grades

A full card in Harrigan Plate action sees Collies vs. Butchers and Dapto vs. Corrimal get underway before their respective first-grade fixtures.

Elsewhere, Helensburgh will be out to lower the colours of the high-flying Avondale Wombats, who beat them 32-20 in Round 2. Wests host Berkeley in the Sunday afternoon clash.

The Avondale Greyhounds are up against Windang in what looks to be the feature match of the round in the Harrigan Shield. In the other games on Saturday afternoon, the Wombats host Figtree, and the Cougars are away to Norths.

Meanwhile, the Wests vs. Berkeley clash on Sunday afternoon should attract plenty of interest.
