De La Salle will enter the 2023 Mojo Homes Illawarra Cup Finals series as title favourites after securing their sixth consecutive win and the minor premiership with a comprehensive 54-0 win over Corrimal on Saturday. It’s the second time in as many attempts the Shire-based outfit has made the finals of the NSWRL major competition.
Luke Manahan’s charges will meet last year’s premiers Collegians in the major semi-final after Collies accounted for Wests 28-14, centre Hayden Budd scoring a hat-trick in the 5 tries to 3 victory.
Thirroul will go into next week’s Elimination Final against the Devils with renewed confidence after defeating Dapto 32-8 at Thomas Gibson Park.
In a warm-up for next week’s First Division semi-finals, Wests defeated Collies 22-12, while Helensburgh snuck home 24-22 over the Cougars.
