Some great games were played across all senior competitions last weekend, despite some very wet grounds and a number of relocated games due to venue closures. Special thanks to all who assisted in making these changes possible, especially Woonona-Bulli JRLFC, Norths JRLFC, Figtree Crushers RLFC and Windang Pelicans JRLFC.
In the Open Age competition, Thirroul showed they are the team to beat and remain unbeaten after belting Dapto, Helensburgh overcame Wests in a tough encounter at Boronia Park in a big weekend for the Tigers with four senior teams all collecting a win, and Corrimal fell short against Avondale despite a rousing comeback led by PNG import Benton Pyako.
Special mention to Corrimal (U18s) and Dapto (U18 Women) who both broke through for their initial win of the 2020 competition.
This Saturday will see our live streamed match on BarTV between Thirroul and Corrimal at 1.25pm, as they play for the Bendigo Bank Mental Health Cup. Their clash only a few weeks ago was a thriller, and the Cougars need to claim the two points to remain in the hunt for a grand final berth. Other games see Helensburgh take on Avondale at Dandaloo Sportsground at 3.10pm, and Wests host Dapto at 3.00pm.
